בשנת שבע עסרי שנין לפקח בר רמליהו מלך אחז בר יותם מלך שבטא דבית יהודה:
yhwdh dbyth shbTa mlk ywthm br akhz mlk rmlyhw br lpqkh shnyn esry shbe bshnth
In the seventeenth year of Pekah the son of Remaliah, Ahaz the son of Jotham king of Judah began to reign.

בר עשרין שנין אחז כד מלך ושית עסרי שנין מלך בירושלם ולא עבד דכשר קדם יי אלהיה כדוד אבוהי:
abwhy kdwd alhyh yy qdm dkshr ebd wla byrwshlm mlk shnyn esry wshyth mlk kd akhz shnyn eshryn br
Ahaz was twenty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem. He didn’t do that which was right in Yahweh his God’s eyes, like David his father.

ואזל באורח מלכי ישראל ואף ית בריה אעבר בנורא כתועבת עממיא דתריך יי יתהון מן קדם בני ישראל:
yshral bny qdm mn ythhwn yy dthryk emmya kthwebth bnwra aebr bryh yth wap yshral mlky bawrkh wazl
But he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, and even made his son to pass through the fire, according to the abominations of the nations whom Yahweh cast out from before the children of Israel.

ודבח ואסיק בוסמין על במתא ועל רמתא ותחות כל אילן עבוף:
ebwp ayln kl wthkhwth rmtha wel bmtha el bwsmyn wasyq wdbkh
He sacrificed and burned incense in the high places, on the hills, and under every green tree.

בכן סליק רצין מלכא דארם ופקח בר רמליהו מלכא דישראל לירושלם לאגחא קרבא וצרו על אחז ולא יכילו לאגחא:
lagkha ykylw wla akhz el wtsrw qrba lagkha lyrwshlm dyshral mlka rmlyhw br wpqkh darm mlka rtsyn slyq bkn
Then Rezin king of Syria and Pekah son of Remaliah king of Israel came up to Jerusalem to wage war. They besieged Ahaz, but could not overcome him.

בעדנא ההיא אתיב רצין מלכא דארם ית אילת לארם ותריך ית יהודאי מאילת וארמאי אתו לאילת ויתיבו תמן עד יומא הדין:
hdyn ywma ed thmn wythybw laylth athw warmay maylth yhwday yth wthryk larm aylth yth darm mlka rtsyn athyb hhya bedna
At that time Rezin king of Syria recovered Elath to Syria, and drove the Jews from Elath; and the Syrians came to Elath, and lived there to this day.

ושלח אחז אזגדין לות תגלת פלסר מלכא דאתור למימר עבדך וברך אנא סק ופרוקני מיד מלכא דארם ומיד מלכא דישראל דקמו עלי:
ely dqmw dyshral mlka wmyd darm mlka myd wprwqny sq ana wbrk ebdk lmymr dathwr mlka plsr thglth lwth azgdyn akhz wshlkh
So Ahaz sent messengers to Tiglath Pileser king of Assyria, saying, “I am your servant and your son. Come up and save me out of the hand of the king of Syria and out of the hand of the king of Israel, who rise up against me.”

ונסיב אחז ית כספא וית דהבא דאשתכח בבית מקדשא דיי ובאוצרי בית מלכא ושדר למלכא דאתור שוחדא:
shwkhda dathwr lmlka wshdr mlka byth wbawtsry dyy mqdsha bbyth dashthkkh dhba wyth kspa yth akhz wnsyb
Ahaz took the silver and gold that was found in Yahweh’s house, and in the treasures of the king’s house, and sent it for a present to the king of Assyria.

וקביל מניה מלכא דאתור וסליק מלכא דאתור על דמשק ואחדה ואגלי עמא די בה לקירינא וית רצין קטל:
qTl rtsyn wyth lqyryna bh dy ema wagly wakhdh dmshq el dathwr mlka wslyq dathwr mlka mnyh wqbyl
The king of Assyria listened to him; and the king of Assyria went up against Damascus and took it, and carried its people captive to Kir, and killed Rezin.

ואזל מלכא אחז לקדמות תגלת פלאסר מלכא דאתור לדומשק וחזא ית מדבחא די בדמשק ושדר מלכא אחז לות אוריה כהנא ית דמות מדבחא וית טיקוסיה לכל עובדוהי:
ewbdwhy lkl Tyqwsyh wyth mdbkha dmwth yth khna awryh lwth akhz mlka wshdr bdmshq dy mdbkha yth wkhza ldwmshq dathwr mlka plasr thglth lqdmwth akhz mlka wazl
King Ahaz went to Damascus to meet Tiglath Pileser king of Assyria, and saw the altar that was at Damascus; and King Ahaz sent to Urijah the priest a drawing of the altar and plans to build it.

ובנא אוריה כהנא ית מדבחא ככל דשלח מלכא אחז מדמשק כן עבד אוריה כהנא עד דאתא מלכא אחז מדמשק:
mdmshq akhz mlka datha ed khna awryh ebd kn mdmshq akhz mlka dshlkh kkl mdbkha yth khna awryh wbna
Urijah the priest built an altar. According to all that King Ahaz had sent from Damascus, so Urijah the priest made it for the coming of King Ahaz from Damascus.

ואתא מלכא מדמשק וחזא מלכא ית מדבחא וקריב מלכא על מדבחא ואסיק עלוהי:
elwhy wasyq mdbkha el mlka wqryb mdbkha yth mlka wkhza mdmshq mlka watha
When the king had come from Damascus, the king saw the altar; and the king came near to the altar, and offered on it.

ואסיק ית עלתיה וית מנחתיה ונסיך ית נסכיה וזרק ית דם נכסת קודשיא די ליה על מדבחא:
mdbkha el lyh dy qwdshya nksth dm yth wzrq nskyh yth wnsyk mnkhthyh wyth elthyh yth wasyq
He burned his burnt offering and his meal offering, poured his drink offering, and sprinkled the blood of his peace offerings on the altar.

וית מדבחא דנחשא די קדם יי וקריב מן קדם ביתא מבין מדבחא ומבין בית מקדשא דיי ויהב יתיה על צידא דמדבחא צפונא:
tspwna dmdbkha tsyda el ythyh wyhb dyy mqdsha byth wmbyn mdbkha mbyn bytha qdm mn wqryb yy qdm dy dnkhsha mdbkha wyth
The bronze altar, which was before Yahweh, he brought from the front of the house, from between his altar and Yahweh’s house, and put it on the north side of his altar.

ופקיד מלכא אחז ית אוריה כהנא למימר על מדבחא רבא אסיק ית עלת צפרא וית מנחת רמשא וית עלת מלכא וית מנחתיה וית עלת כל עמא דארעא ומנחתהון ונסכיהון וכל דם עלתא וכל דם נכסת קודשיא עלוהי תזרוק ומדבחא דנחשא יהי לי לבקרא:
lbqra ly yhy dnkhsha wmdbkha thzrwq elwhy qwdshya nksth dm wkl eltha dm wkl wnskyhwn wmnkhthhwn darea ema kl elth wyth mnkhthyh wyth mlka elth wyth rmsha mnkhth wyth tspra elth yth asyq rba mdbkha el lmymr khna awryh yth akhz mlka wpqyd
King Ahaz commanded Urijah the priest, saying, “On the great altar burn the morning burnt offering, the evening meal offering, the king’s burnt offering and his meal offering, with the burnt offering of all the people of the land, their meal offering, and their drink offerings; and sprinkle on it all the blood of the burnt offering, and all the blood of the sacrifice; but the bronze altar will be for me to inquire by.”

ועבד אוריה כהנא ככל דפקיד מלכא אחז:
akhz mlka dpqyd kkl khna awryh webd
Urijah the priest did so, according to all that King Ahaz commanded.

וקציץ מלכא אחז ית גדנפי בסיסיא ואעדי מנהון ית כיורא וית ימא אחית מעל תוריא דנחשא דתחותוהי ויהב יתיה על רצפת אבניא:
abnya rtspth el ythyh wyhb dthkhwthwhy dnkhsha thwrya mel akhyth yma wyth kywra yth mnhwn waedy bsysya gdnpy yth akhz mlka wqtsyts
King Ahaz cut off the panels of the bases, and removed the basin from off them, and took down the sea from off the bronze oxen that were under it, and put it on a pavement of stone.

וית טיקוס שבתא די בנו בביתא וית מעלנא דמלכא בראה אסחר לבית מקדשא דיי מן קדם מלכא דאתור:
dathwr mlka qdm mn dyy mqdsha lbyth askhr brah dmlka melna wyth bbytha bnw dy shbtha Tyqws wyth
He removed the covered way for the Sabbath that they had built in the house, and the king’s outer entrance to Yahweh’s house, because of the king of Assyria.

ושאר פתגמי אחז דעבד הלא אינון כתיבין על ספר פתגמי יומיא למלכיא דבית יהודה:
yhwdh dbyth lmlkya ywmya pthgmy spr el kthybyn aynwn hla debd akhz pthgmy wshar
Now the rest of the acts of Ahaz which he did, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
